Paulus, Sokolowski and Sartor, LLC (DBA: PS&S) Structural Design Engineer in New York, New York

Perform and coordinate assigned engineering projects under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer. Design and develop structural design projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner. Develop detailed construction plans for low-rise and mid-rise buildings, bridges, and other structures using CAD or BIM software. Perform structural calculations for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures. Create structural models using the latest design software. Inspect bridges (or other structures) and prepare inspection reports. Review shop drawings and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) during construction phase. Ensure code compliance of applicable codes and construction type. Assist in site planning and interpret geotechnical reports. Document point system and recommend strategies to achieve desired level in building materials. Perform product research and provide documentation for function and code compliance. Perform design development (in coordination with licensed Engineers) and assist in detailing including the building envelope, including joint and penetrations for structural members, among others. Prepare technical designs and construction detailing drawings which consist of detailing all conditions, footing, column, and beam schedules, and complete annotation including dimensions, notes, keynotes, and indicators for structural members. Perform construction observation and attend meetings as requested.Applicant must have Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Must have 2 years of experience working as a Structural Engineer or related. Must have 2 years of experience utilizing tools such as Revit. AutoCad, Microstation vi8, STAAD, L-Pile, RAM Structures, Tekla Tedds, CSI products including SAP 2000, ETABS and SAFE. Must have obtained either EIT or Intern Engineer certification from the State of New York. Must have obtained MTA NYC Transit -Track Safety Certification.
