City of New York Staff Analyst Lvl 1 in New York, New York
Job Description
Duties include but are not limited to:
Researching open source and proprietary databases, including but not limited to, legal filings, credit headers, public records, social media and other resources for individuals or organizations
Synthesize large amounts of legal research from multiple sources and effectively summarize that information into concise analytical assessments
Prepare/prioritize data to be processed in-house or by vendors
Process data using in-house tools
Establish/Maintain uniform practices for data entry
Train staff to ensure proper data entry practices are being followed
Perform collections and preservation of various types of online content (social media, web sites, etc )
QC vendor work
Serve as a liaison between an array of divisions
Communicate with vendors to meet case team needs
QC audio and video files produced to and by the Law Department
Assist case teams with custom applications or uncommon file types
Develop, maintain, and monitor reporting tools to track performance of vendors
Assist case teams with setup/configuration of in-house tools or hosted platforms
Provide technical expertise to staff attorneys and train/update Library staff on changes to platforms and applications
Develop, maintain, and manage numerous daily and monthly data reports needed to ensure high quality practices
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Candidate must be currently serving in the Staff Analyst title or reachable on the current Staff Analyst civil service list.

Qualifications
A master’s degree from an accredited college or university, accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a closely related field; or
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience working in one or a combination of the following areas: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; or in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; or in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, labor relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation or fiscal management; or in a related area.
Special Note:
To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level II, individuals must have, after meeting the minimum requirements, one additional year of professional experience as described in "2" above.
