Description We are searching for a Staff Accountant to join our non-profit organization based in New York. This role, situated within the bustling heart of New York, will entail assisting our team with various accounting tasks. You will be expected to handle responsibilities such as contract review, budget preparation and modifications, as well as journal entries and account analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Review and submit contracts in a timely manner

• Assist with the preparation of annual contracts and budgets

• Carry out modifications to budgets as required

• Review billing procedures and ensure they align with financial policies

• Facilitate the processing of expenses

• Handle the creation and submission of journal entries

• Perform account analysis to identify and resolve discrepancies

• Utilize MS Suite and Sage MIP/other nonprofit accounting systems for various tasks

• Maintain strong MS Excel skills for data management and analysis

• Carry out bank reconciliations regularly to ensure financial accuracy. Requirements • Possession of a degree in Accounting or a related field

• Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations

• Experience in Journal Entry management

• Familiarity with Contract preparation and modifications

• Knowledge of Budget Processes

• Ability to conduct Document Review

• Experience with Abila MIP software

• Strong analytical skills and ability to perform complex data Analysis

• Prior experience in a non-profit organization will be considered an advantage

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Willingness to adhere to all principles related to confidentiality, ethics, and best practices

• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
