What // Amazon QuickSight is a modern analytics and data visualization tool that powers data-driven organizations with business intelligence (BI). QuickSight allows business users to build interactive dashboards, share reports, embed analytics into their own application, and self-serve with natural language query (NLQ). Now, with Amazon Q in QuickSight (latest AI/ML offering), these same business users can use natural language to build visualizations, discover insights, and share data stories in seconds.

Who // We are looking for a seasoned UX Designer with prior experience in analytics and in AI/ML who can look around corners and help shape the future of QuickSight with generative AI. You will need to lead with excellence, tackle complex tradeoffs while keeping the bar high for our customers, and most of all, bring your best self to work every day.

Key job responsibilities

  • Present compelling, data-driven design proposals to UX team, cross-functional partners (engineers, data scientists, product managers), and senior executives for feedback and alignment.

  • Own the end-to-end design process from discovery to production which may include project management, research proposals, one-pagers, information architecture, mid-fi flows, hi-fi screens, interactive prototypes, detailed UI specs for engineering handoff, and user testing.

  • Write detailed use cases and user story requirements to assist product partners and jumpstart discovery process and concept ideation.

  • Collaborate closely with peers in design, product, engineering, science, marketing, and sales in a hybrid in-office/distributed work environment.

  • Craft workflows and patterns that are reusable and take into consideration various business needs, customer feedback, and usability findings.

  • Apply systems-level design thinking to drive design solutions and content strategies that scale.

  • Contribute to the UX teams’s shared knowledge of user-centered design and research methodologies.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of design experience

  • Have an available online portfolio

  • Experience with best practices in User Interface Design, Information Architecture, and Interaction Design

  • Experience driving design projects full-cycle from concept to production.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Business intelligence (BI, data, analytics) and/or data visualization product design

  • Large Language Model (LLM), generative AI, and/or AI/ML-powered product design

  • Proven success with communicating strategic and tactical recommendations based on data

  • Design systems, prototyping, and visual design experience

  • Service design and/or strategic design artifacts to articulate customer needs across large-scale, complex journeys

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $113,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
