Description

Accountable for delivering up-to-date safety assessments for raw materials and finished product for the categories/brands assigned, and conducting final review and sign-off of safety reports. Serve as the single point-of-contact for all product safety related matters related to raw materials and finished product within the brand or categories assigned. Optimize work processes to drive greater efficiency and alignment with cross functional partners. Collaborate with key cross-functional partners including Product Development, Fragrance Development, Commercialization, Regulatory, and Clinical to provide safety-related support. Manage safety related activities with external partners such as consultants, analytical labs, and CROs to drive solutions to issues related to formulations/raw materials. Participate on industry trade association scientific committees/task forces to ensure BBW has most current information/intelligence related to product safety and regulatory issues. Train and coach junior team members in the science of toxicology and other related technical skills, such as toxicological analysis, study design, state-of-the-art approaches. Responsible for staying current on new trends in animal alternatives and risk assessment, and developing strategy to implement new approaches into internal work processes. Attend commercialization meetings that support execution. Telecommuting option – employee must live in New York City area.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Toxicology or Pharmacology plus 5 years’ experience including 3 years of industry experience in personal care/cosmetics or related industry and knowledge regarding global regulations and safety requirements, ingredient safety positions, risk assessment methodology, and animal alternative approaches
