Your New Role...

As a Senior Staff Product Designer, Accessibility, you are a member of the world-class CNN Digital Product Design Team, which is responsible for creating industry-leading digital user experiences consumed by millions of audiences across the globe.

This is a role for an experienced designer and thought-leader, who enjoys working closely with design leadership and cross-functional partners (product design, engineering, product management, research, legal, editorial, analytics, and content strategy).

You will craft and lead the advocacy and implementation work for A11y strategy, standards and best practices, a reusable component library, and other efforts toward an accessible and equitable end user experience. In this role, you will have the opportunity to impact the entirety of CNN’s digital experience for internal and external users.

Your Role Accountabilities...

  • Spearhead initiatives to integrate accessibility best practices into all aspects of the product development process and the design workflow (from ideation to implementation and validation).

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to champion accessibility and inclusive design principles, ensuring adherence to latest WCAG accessibility standards.

  • Work closely with the design systems teams, guiding the development of Figma and code components that prioritize accessibility, usability, and scalability.

  • Conduct comprehensive accessibility audits and assessments of existing products, identifying areas for improvement, and leading the implementation of solutions.

  • Establish and maintain accessibility guidelines, patterns, and documentation to ensure consistency and compliance across projects.

  • Provide mentorship and educational guidance to product, design, and engineering team members at CNN on accessibility standards, techniques, and tools.

  • Act as a subject matter expert on accessibility, staying abreast of industry trends, standards, and regulations.

  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, including accessibility consultants and user advocacy groups, to continuously improve accessibility practices.

  • Work with design leadership and Warner Bros. Discovery’s existing accessibility organization to educate and advocate for accessibility at CNN and foster a culture of inclusivity and diversity in design.

Qualifications & Experience...

  • 12+ years as a product designer or design technologist, with at least 4 years in accessibility and design systems.

  • A mastery of Figma.

  • Expertise in WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards and a proven track record of designing products that meet or exceed these standards.

  • Knowledge of disability laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

  • Accessibility compliance experience with web and native app experiences (CTV app experience a plus).

  • While not required, experience with assistive technologies like VoiceOver, NVDA screen reader, ZoomText or JAWS is a plus.

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills with stellar collaboration abilities.

  • Mastery and expertise with guidance on user experience design, including usability principles, user research methodology, testing techniques (A/B, Multi-Variant), design theory, interaction design, and accessibility audits.

  • Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.

  • Willingness and enthusiasm for rolling up your sleeves and getting things done.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $156,800.00 - $291,200.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
