The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Senior Director, Practice Operations and Strategy is responsible for the oversight of several multi-modality practices and support services within the CDNYPI Joint Venture. The Senior Director ensures the proper execution of Service Agreements with Columbia Radiology and NYPH. He/She also leads in the assessment, development, and management of the strategic growth planning.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Business Development

  • Determines and monitors key performance indicators and develops performance improvement initiatives across organization. Develops strategies and prioritizes operational improvements activities.
  • Ensures that business development strategies align with the strategic priorities of CDNYPI Board's overall growth and program development goals.
  • Monitors key performance indicators of operational, clinical, quality and revenue cycle workflows. Oversees optimization strategies utilizing a data driven methodology to monitor progress.
  • Identifies and develops new business opportunities from initial planning to execution. Leads in the design and implementation of complex business development initiatives including, site expansion and growth strategies.
  • Works closely with facility planning on development and execution of all growth initiatives for all sites. Participates in the development of project scope, including project deliverables for equipment purchasing and vendor management, ensuring continuous alignment with goals and deliverables.
  • Develop budgets for business planning purposes. Work closely with the finance division to draft all proforma, cash flows and CON applications. Compile detailed revenue and expense summaries to meet the strategic objectives.
  • Identifies and interprets trends and patterns to understand market and advise on performance objectives. Designs dashboards to track and report performance and growth.

Practice Operations

  • Works collaboratively with the President, Medical Director, and Directors to ensure the achievement of practice-wide operational and financial goals/metrics. Ensures organizational guidelines and policies are standardized and met across all clinical sites.
  • Ensure optimal operations and patient care by guiding managers and ensuring exceptional service delivery, staffing coverage, and infrastructure support.
  • Develops strategies that maintain an efficient patient-centered environment ensuring exceptional patient care, access, and experience. Monitor and present executive dashboards to assess practice operations efficiency, revenue cycle, and quality metrics. Utilize source data to identify trends and patterns for analysis and actions.
  • Develop annual budget and review quarterly finance reports to ensure adherence to budget. Routinely make operational adjustments to meet budget projections. Report on variances.
  • Serve as liaison with key stakeholders responsible for carrying out the Service Agreements for CDNYPI. Interface with leadership from all organizations to ensure leased services are executed seamlessly.
  • Ensure all Human Resources and Faculty Affairs processes are followed according to established policies.

People

  • Leads HR strategy for practice operations and performance. Direct oversight of practice operations teams to ensure adequate talent acquisition. Works with HR to establish metrics and goals to ensure effectiveness of retention strategies.
  • Ensures staff productivity benchmarks and quality measures are achieved. Ensures approved HR strategy is implemented and adhered to. Develops remediation plans as needed.
  • Ensures staff performance and competencies are constructively conducted. Offers continuing guidance and assistance to leadership team on work activities, procedures, competency development and performance-related issues.
  • Promotes staff professionalism and performance with coaching, training and feedback. Mentors others in individual and team accountability, modeling behavior and demonstrating best practices/techniques.

Quality and Compliance

  • Leads the implementation of and compliance with policies, procedures, programs, protocols, and systems. Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies, departmental and organization policies and procedures for all staff.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure ongoing site readiness for surveys. Implement corrective actions as recommended.
  • Ensures compliance at all sites with all DOH, ACR, MQSA, and any related guidelines. Work closely with Regulatory and Quality divisions to deliver services with the utmost compliance to guidelines.
  • Evaluates quality measures. Develop best practice solutions to various quality initiatives including all site surveys. Delegates the implementation effectively and monitors progress.
  • Keeps current on all organizational and regulatory compliance trainings and ensures staff successfully completes all required trainings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 4 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree/MBA is preferred.

Other Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in similar positions in the healthcare industry, preferably in Radiology.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management skills including planning and executing technical and operational project activities with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and/or understanding data analytics, budgets and business planning.
  • Candidate must be well organized and able to manage and problem solve a demanding and complex workload.
  • Ability to communicate and interact positively, constructively and effectively with patients, professional staff, providers and organizational stakeholders.
  • Must be able to create and deliver high level communication presentations for senior leadership, CDNYPI Board and other organizational stakeholders.
