Amazon Flex works directly with independent contractors – called delivery partners – to make deliveries to our customers. With Amazon Flex, individuals can now be their own boss delivering Amazon packages.

We are seeking a Sr Communications Manager, Head of Content and Editorial Planning for Amazon Flex.

In this position, you will oversee Amazon Flex’s content and editorial strategy, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving content excellence across various channels via high quality driver communications to our delivery partners worldwide. The ideal candidate will have content development and/or communications program and project management experience, excellent writing skills, and the ability to easily adapt communications for different audiences and purposes. You will exercise extremely high judgment in narrow time frames, inject logic and care into communications, and ensure content meets the highest standards, in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. The ideal candidate will also have a proven track record in assuming end-to-end ownership, developing communications and content strategies to achieve business objectives, the execution of the communications tactics, and delivering measurable impact and results from communications initiatives.

Key job responsibilities

*Define and manage the execution of communications programs to improve the delivery partner experience. This includes analyzing and defining key objectives, messages and channels, and driving awareness, engagement, and adoption of initiatives.

*Develop and communicate a clear editorial and storytelling vision and plan aligned with Amazon Flex’s overall marketing and business goals.

*Create high-quality, engaging communications and copy for delivery partners across a variety of channels, including emails, FAQs, talking points, newsletters, videos, websites, announcements, and others.

*Collaborate with key stakeholders to define content themes, priority narratives, and messaging.

*Establish an editorial structure to integrate and align content across the organization.

  • Establish editorial guidelines, style standards, and quality control processes.

  • In alignment with the editorial strategy, develop a and implement a content strategy, considering channel selection, editorial governance, and metrics aligned with overall business objectives.

*Lead the Amazon Flex blog, editorial and content plans.

*Ensure content adheres to brand guidelines, SEO best practices, legal, and industry standards.

*Create and maintain communications toolkits, processes, templates, and messaging for worldwide and communications teams.

*Develop, track and report metrics on the effectiveness of communications/content, as well as continually monitor, analyze, and tune messaging to maximize impact.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

  • Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)

  • Experience developing and executing campaigns across a multitude of timezones and languages

  • 7+ years of developing and managing communications programs experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience driving direction and alignment with large cross-functional teams and agency partners

  • MBA

  • Experience designing and executing joint communications plans with strategic alliance partners with global footprint

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $94,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
