Job Title: Senior Systems AdministratorGrade: 30Salary: $ 118,164 - $ 140,648The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified, motivated, and dependable individual to fill the fulltime position of Senior Systems Administrator position. Supporting core and innovative IT services for Columbia Psychiatry, the senior IT systems administrator will own responsibility for critical on-premises and cloud-hosted platforms and systems. The administrator will work closely with senior IT and business leadership to design and effectively leverage the services. Technical processes range from transformed cloud-based service orchestration to highly available web-based application platforms to virtualization and data reporting/visualizations solutions. Secondary/tertiary support for backup, database and storage platforms is also required. Hybrid remote work available when assignments permit. Production system change support and emergency response requires off-hour and weekend availability.Columbia Psychiatry, composed of the Columbia University Department of Psychiatry, New York State Office of Mental Health, and non-profit Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, impacts the world through discovery and psychiatric care. A successful candidate must be proficient working with Microsoft Windows domain, Active Directory, Windows Servers, Group Policies, ADFS.Duties and Responsibilities:•Lead the planning, design, implementation, and management efforts related to internet and intranet-facing systems, including physical, virtual and cloud servers and platform services.•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement innovative technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support business objectives.•Support the management of data center operations.•Ensure compliance and maintenance of technical policies and procedures to ensure security, compliance, and business continuity/disaster preparedness.•Continuously improve operations by implementing best practices, evaluating performance metrics, and enhancing customer satisfaction.•Develop and implement asset management and utilization strategies to effectively track, maintain, and optimize the organization's technology assets.•Develop and monitor cloud and system logging / alerting.•Support cloud architecture with secure and efficient design.•Develop, monitor, and support cloud compute solutions in AWS.•Manage and maintain VMWare ESXI Hosts and VCenter infrastructure.•Designs, develops, and maintains scripts for system administration, automation, and IT infrastructure management.•Provide advanced end-level support to technical directors and leaders of core services.•Ability to think about technical problems and business problems with a technical dimension critically and creatively.•Help guide appropriate development of overall architectures, including networking and storage supporting computational services in on premise and cloud environments.•Ensure innovation and compliance through technical services.•Other duties assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Applications/resumes must clearly document professional experience performing the following functions:•M.S. or equivalent in an IT-related field. •At least 3 years full-time professional experience in system administration, including at least 1-year in each of the following: VMWare ESXi systems, Linux/Unix multi-user system administration and AWS cloud computing architecture and administration.•At least 1-year professional experience managing templates and systems in multi-host/multi-server Drupal 8 or higher platform on Linux systems.•At least 1-year professional experience managing Linux-based clusters, such as containerized solutions, for production workloads.•At least 1-year professional experience building and supporting cloud-based workloads in AWS inclusive of provisioning storage, RDS and compute solutions.•At least 3 years’ experience with and ability to clearly communicate technical matters to both IT and business staff.Preferred Qualifications:•Experience AWS Solutions Architect, SysOps, or DevOps certification•VMWare VCP or equivalent certification•Experience in SAN administration•Experience designing computational and storage workloads in AWS.•Experience developing and support Cloud-formation deployments.•Professional experience in healthcare IT operations•Experience working in creative centralized IT division, which was part of a large, multi-site organization.Work Location: 40 Haven Ave, New York, NY 10032To Apply: Submit an application through our website at https://nyspi.applicantpro.com/jobs/.
