Your Opportunity

We are looking for Senior Structural Engineers to support recently awarded large infrastructure projects with the MTA and PANYNJ. An opportunity is presented for highly motivated Structural Engineers to establish a leading role on the project design team. Join our dynamic structural group and work alongside others who share your passion to support communities through exciting and unique projects.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee design development and project deliverables for new and rehabilitation of existing transportation building infrastructure.

  • Oversee construction phase services on behalf of the Designer of Record.

  • Perform and lead various design projects under Design/Build and Design/Bid/Build environment.

  • Perform and oversee structural design calculations, drawings, and details for various building design and condition assessment projects.

  • Mentor and monitor work by other structural engineers. Perform quality control and quality assurance checks on deliverables.

  • Client coordination including coordinating deliveries, submittals, meeting, review comments etc.

  • Assist Senior Professionals in preparation of proposals and presentations on various pursuits.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Licensed or ability to obtain the Professional Engineer license in the States of NY and NJ.

  • Proficiency in STAAD, CSI, SAP, RAM, ETABS and other structural analysis and design software.

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and MicroStation.

  • Thorough understanding of design codes and agency standards such as NYSBC, NYCBC, ASCE, AISC and ACI.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong leadership and team building skills are essential to meet the expectations of this challenging position.

  • Experience with agencies such as MTA, NYCEDC, NYCDDC, PANYNJ, NYCDPR, NJ Transit etc. is desired.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent, Graduate Degree highly desired.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the structural design for buildings. Experience with design of transportation structures is a plus.

Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work depending on project needs.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

  • $117,800.00 - $176,800.00 Min/Max Pay Range(s) for postings located in NYC/NY

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
