Robert Half Senior Finance Manager, Freight & Distribution in NEW YORK, New York

Description Robert Half is looking for a project professional for an interim opportunity as a Finance Manager.Join our team on a contract basis, where you will be responsible for providing the required financial information, analysis, and advice in order to make financially sound decisions, working closely with management in various business groups. In addition, the Finance Manager will be tasked with the responsibility of articulating the financial results at the end of each reporting period and for each planning cycle.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare executive-level management reporting, summarizing findings and recommendations

  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with leaders across the organization

  • Manage all aspects of the annual/quarterly/monthly budget and reforecast processes

  • Collaborate with the accounting team to establish processes and improve close cycle times and reduce errors

  • Develop operating and financial metrics, analyze results and trends to create impactful insights, report results to executive leadership and key stakeholders, and improve forecasting and modelling accuracy

  • Develop methods to automate and institute reports using BI tools and financial systems

  • Manage the preparation of materials related to detailed business unit projections and highlight risks/opportunities

  • Work with business unit leaders on overall business strategy and the completeness and accuracy of the material inputs to the company financial model Requirements - Bachelor or Business Administration degree with a specialization in Finance or Accounting

  • CPA designation or MBA preferred

  • Minimum of 4+ years of progressive experience in a FP& A capacity

  • 2+ years of people development and leadership experience

  • Must have excellent communication (written and verbal) skills to interact clearly and effectively in a fast-changing environment

  • Prior experience using budgetary software and accounting systems

  • Strong knowledge of financial modeling and accounting implications

  • Previous experience using MS Excel, and financial modeling and data analysis capabilities
