Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. (Con Edison) seeks a Senior Engineer, Distribution Engineering System Design Analysis in NY, NY. Duties: Serve as subject matter expert on electrical system design, including meeting challenges posed to the system by increased Distributed Energy Resources. Perform electrical load flow studies, contingency analysis, voltage drop analysis and short circuit analysis. Develop and determine feasibility of electrical designs and electrical facilities in electrical distribution system. Perform technical, economic and system analysis studies to determine optimal design features for major components of electrical system. Develop and onboard new equipment for electrical distribution system and provide guidance and training as necessary. Prepare, review, and comment on company specifications, procedures and drawings as required as well as reviewing waiver request. Write technical papers and attend related meetings as required. Oversee, train and guide engineering personnel and technicians when necessary and take leadership role in department’s training activities. Respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to customers. Partial telecommuting permitted 2 days per week.Reqts: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, and 8 years of related work experience in the Electric Industry. Must have the following: 8 years of experience with applying technical knowledge and field experience of the electrical distribution system including substations, non-network and 4kV grids; 8 years of experience with applying knowledge of electrical distribution network systems, distributed generation interconnection designs, and system design specifications; 6 years of experience with performing electrical load flow analysis, fault analysis, and short circuit analysis; 6 years of experience working with analytical software such as SINCAL, CAPE, ETAP, DigSilent, or CYME TCC; and 4 years of experience performing voltage regulation studies and relay coordination studies.Salary range $141,000 to $150,000 / per year.
