The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director, Operations, within the School's Career Management Center (CMC), the Senior Associate Director, Business Applications & Data Operations works as part of a larger team to support all of Columbia Business School's students and alumni in their career search, engages with external vendors, as well as internal CMC teams. This role will administer many operations and systems functions of the CMC including technology platform management, platform implementation, as well as data collection and analysis.

The Senior Associate Director, Business Applications & Data Operations supports all CBS career-related programs across constituent groups including MBAs, Executive MBAs, specialized MS programs, Alumni, and recruiters, among others. The Senior Associate Director, Business Applications & Data Operations will work with staff from all areas of the School including Information Technology Group (ITG), Financial Planning, Operations, HR, Office of Student Affairs, Admissions, Dean's Office, and others as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manages multiple software platforms used by the CMC, including EdTech, recruiting platforms, job search tools, CRM software, and others, under supervision of Executive Director of Operations. This includes loading & maintaining of student records in multiple software platforms, participating in status meetings with software vendors, and working with ITG to troubleshoot technical issues, some of which are time-sensitive.
  • Acts as the primary liaison for data inquiries at the CMC. Creates regular employment and team performance reports. Collaborates with the Executive Director of Operations on the annual employment report. Analyzes historical data and aids in developing measures for assessing employer and student satisfaction. Capable of presenting data to diverse stakeholders. Conducts data collection and analysis to support CMC strategy and enhance career services. Collaborates with the Dean's Data Analytics team on various data projects and audits.
  • Cultivates strong working relationship with ITG to ensure efficient technology support across Office and School-wide initiatives. This means helping maintain the CMC's technology portfolio from a strategic perspective, in line with CMC needs, and in keeping with ITG's standards/best practices.
  • Reviews and vets new technology options and best practices for the CMC to develop and deepen student and recruiter relationships. Researches and presents operations and technology best practices to Directors and Associate Dean. Leads Salesforce implementation, working closely with the Employer Relations and Communications teams.
  • Serves as primary contact for multiple software vendors, handling onboarding, contract renewal, and determining calendar of deliverables, updates, and new product features. Works with CMC staff members on platform issues and harnesses student data to maximize their effectiveness in working with students and alumni. Works closely with existing vendors to implement feature enhancements to platforms to improve the student and alumni experience. Proactively gathers feedback from all stakeholders about platform performance and effectiveness.
  • Works with the Executive Director of Operations in representing the CMC in development/execution of School-wide technology projects and meetings. Participates in all-office events and initiatives, including On-Campus Recruiting, Orientation, networking events, educational forums, student and recruiter surveys, monthly All Hands meetings, and departmental and team off-sites.
  • Manages special project work as assigned by the Executive Director, Operations, and Associate Dean. Works closely with the Executive Director on budget as it relates to ongoing oversight of the creation and processing of invoices and purchase orders and ordering of IT equipment for the department.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required. Minimum 4-6 years related experience required.
  • Must be technically proficient and be comfortable with navigating technology.
  • Experience with a wide variety of technology platforms, survey tools, databases, and CRM systems, and a polished, customer-service-oriented approach.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset and strong relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to engage across a variety of colleagues (students, staff, alumni, and vendors) through influence, tact, discretion, judgment, and patience, with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines required.
  • Effective working within a team on special non-recurring and ongoing projects and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Proven ability to excel in a high-volume environment needed along with strong project management skills.
  • Strong MS Office and Google Suite skills are required.
  • Occasional evening, weekend, and early morning work is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six-plus years' experience with project management and experience managing technologies preferred.
  • Experience in higher education and/or corporate settings strongly preferred as well as prior extensive working knowledge of Salesforce, or other CRM platforms.
  • Familiarity with career management software and education software like Canvas/Blackboard is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SQL, R, Python valuable along with Qualtrics/Survey Monkey, Tableau, Google Analytics, and other analytics programs.
  • Product management and data integration experience is highly valued.
