Role:

The Branded Environments team is responsible for setting the vision for how the American Express brand is expressed in physical spaces and 3D applications, drawing upon the brand’s visual identity and strategic principles, and ultimately building brand value. The team manages branding and design from concept through construction, ensuring the design intent and desired brand experience remain intact.

The Senior Analyst – Branded Environments will report to one of the Sr. Managers of Branded Environments, and will support the larger team in the development of all-design related aspects of Card Member facing physical spaces across the globe, primarily in airports and travel-related segments. To be successful in this role, the candidate must be an excellent collaborator, self-starter, and exhibit an enthusiasm to learn about the various factors that contribute to a successful customer experience.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate with internal American Express teams and external agencies to optimize our Card Member spaces, leveraging design as a catalyst to continuously bring the brand to life in new and memorable ways

  • Contribute to the environmental brand direction and coordination for all stages of design throughout:

  • Existing space audits

o Conceptual design

o Design development

o Drawing reviews and submittals

o Construction / fabrication

o Post-construction review

  • Liaise with interior design, graphic design, and architect partners as they interpret and execute on our design vision – collaborating with the team on creative briefing, defining project asks, providing design direction , and sharing feedback in a thoughtful, timely manner

  • Work with the broader Branded Environments team to assemble relevant information for leadership and partner presentations

  • Support furniture and accessory coordination across projects

  • Support ongoing operational design needs including card member signage, design maintenance, smallwares, uniforms, etc.

  • Support digital documentation of project specifications

  • Participate in all team meetings, reviews, phone calls, and communication between project teams

  • Create a positive team environment through proactive collaboration and cooperation.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in commercial interior design, branded environmental design, or similar discipline

  • Passionate, curious, and knowledgeable about great branded hospitality environments and experiences

  • Strong sense of design principles and understanding of permanent physical space design with a brand lens

  • Familiarity with space planning, floor plans, furniture planning, and adjacencies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to collaborate on multiple projects in various phases simultaneously, meeting timeline expectations

  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear visuals

  • Proficiency with Excel, Microsoft Office, and Acrobat Pro DC. Adobe Creative Suite a plus.

  • General understanding of production or construction processes a plus - including documentation, timelines, budgeting, and terminology

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design, environmental design, graphic design, or similar

  • Case studies/portfolio demonstrating ability contribute to environmental / interior design initiatives and deliver best-in-class design solutions

Qualifications

Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually bonus benefits
