The Senior Accounting Manager will collaborate directly with project managers. They will report to the NYC Office Manager and the Regional Controller to oversee the financial and billing aspects of all the office operations including client projects.

Responsibilities

Additionally, the Senior Accounting Manager will be responsible for the following:

    Collaborate with Project Managers to appropriately set up and maintain projects, including billing terms, compensation, and project setup forms. Follow up on missing information during project setup.
  • Maintain Contract Management by ensuring that relevant documents are attached in Deltek.
  • Ensure adherence to proper project setup and close-out procedures.
  • Prepare and revise billing invoices for assigned groups.
  • Address inquiries regarding billing errors and make necessary corrections.
  • Perform accounts payable tasks, such as handling check requests and expense reports.
  • Maintain backlog and bookings, ensuring proper project closure. Collaborate with Project Managers to make necessary updates.
  • Follow up on the status of client invoices and lead collections for assigned projects/clients.
  • Demonstrate the ability to comprehend, investigate, problem solve, and expedite complex accounts payable transactions.
  • Oversee a staff of project accountants
  • Prepare/Review monthly statements for Revenue Recognition, WIP and A/R
  • Assist with other duties throughout the month as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting preferred.
  • At least 8 years of accounting experience.
  • At least 4 years of accounting expereince with NYC Agencies (NYCDOT, NYCDDC, NYCDEP, SCA, NYCHA, etc.)
  • Familiarity with project accounting policies and procedures.
  • Previous experience with Deltek software is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook with strong computer skills.
  • Solid organizational skills with superior attention to detail and time management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Great interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to flourish in a fast-paced, complex environment with a willingness to adapt to new and changing processes quickly.

The pay range for this New York position is $80,000- $110,000 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided in accordance with NY Senate Bill S1326. Base pay information is based on market location. Applicants should apply via the NV5 careers site.
