Paramount Senior Accountant, Controllership in New York, New York

Overview and Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for various aspects of capital projects, fixed assets, equipment and real estate leases and performing other accounting duties as assigned. This will be on a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities include:

  • Review supporting documents and process asset capitalizations.

  • Work with project managers, finance and business teams to resolve discrepancies such as overspending, miscoded POs/invoices, etc.

  • Prepare asset disposal requests and submit for approvals.

  • Prepare and send fixed assets list to the business and engineers to confirm assets exists and are in use.

  • Build relationships with RTR, FP&A, and business teams across the company.

  • Prepare journal entries (intercompany transfers, leases, re-classes, miscodes, etc.).

  • Prepare reconciliations of the fixed assets and leases subledgers to the general ledger.

  • Assist in preparation of month-end and quarter-end reporting.

  • Work with the team to evolve their process and improve analysis as we work to transition current process to future state ERP process.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting

  • 3+ years of professional accounting experience

Additional Qualifications

  • Knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and practices

  • Experience with general ledger functions

  • CPA preferred but not required

  • Proven organization and analytical skills

  • Accuracy and high attention to detail

  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.

  • Advanced Excel skills a plus

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

  • Ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines

  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment

  • Experience with Oracle, TM1, SAP S4Hana, Blackline systems a plus; or other accounting system background

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $72,900.00 - 98,500.00.The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
