Job Title: Research Compliance OfficerGrade: 37Salary: $167,905 - $190,003The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified applicant to fill a full-time Research Compliance Officer position at the New York State Psychiatric Institute.The Research Compliance Officer will provide support and direction for the NYSPI research enterprise by functioning as an independent monitor of NYSPI’s plan for comprehensive redesign of its Human Research Protections Program and IRB. The Compliance Officer will partner with NYSPI’s Director of Research in HRPP and IRB oversight activities but will report directly to NYSPI’s external Human Subjects Research Governance Board.Thorough knowledge and understanding of federal rules and regulations associated with research ensures all research programs and other activities that involve human subjects are in full compliance. The main objectives of the division will be to educate and guide researchers, faculty, staff, and other HRPP staff in the conduct of human subject research and provide quality improvement recommendations. Duties and Responsibilities:•Monitor and evaluate implementation of the NYSPI/RFMH Comprehensive Corrective Action Plan•Advise and educate leadership and associates on research compliance matters •Monitor and evaluate the coordination of internal and external governmental compliance/privacy investigations or reviews•Identify potential areas of system wide research compliance risk and set priorities for internal reviews, and review and approve identified corrective actions •Mentor and monitor performance of the new NYSPI IRB and HRPP directors•Monitor and evaluate the NYSPI IRB reconfiguration •Monitor and evaluate the operations of the NYSPI HRPP Office of Quality Improvement and Education •Assist research leaders and managers in the development, review, approval and education of research policies and standard operating procedures and ensure they remain contemporary with federal, state, and local regulations•Advise research leaders and managers on the development, review, approval, and dissemination of research policies and standard operating procedures •Ensure that research leaders and managers maintain continuously updated knowledge of current federal, state, and local regulations regarding research, including compliance with all required trainings and/or certifications•Evaluate compliance data requests, dashboards, and scorecards.•Submit monthly progress reports to the Governance BoardMinimum Qualifications:•M.A./M.S. degree or equivalent related experience.•A minimum of seven years of experience, with supervisory or management experience, in a Human Research Protections Program setting at an academic medical center.Work Location: 1051 Riverside Drive, New York, NY 10032To Apply: Submit an application through our website at https://nyspi.applicantpro.com/jobs/.
