The New York Post provides readers with the best in News, Sports, Pop Culture, Fashion and Entertainment – with signature wit, irreverence and authority averaging 90 million unique viewers a month. Over the past 223 years, The Post has evolved into a multi-platform media company spanning print, digital, video, audio, app, television and commerce.

The New York Post is seeking a knowledgeable Reporter (Sun-Thurs) to join the Page Six digital team.

Note: This position is open to West Coast candidates.

Schedule: The schedule for this shift is Sunday – Thursday; M-Th, 3pm-11pm EST and Sunday, 1pm-9pm EST).

Responsibilities:

  • Pitch and write several celebrity- and entertainment-based stories quickly and with clean copy daily

  • Proactively seek out and uncover under-the-radar stories that will resonate with the Page Six audience

  • Have your finger on the pulse of what fans are talking about on social media and the ability to create content that fits their interests

  • Help expand Page Six’s nighttime news coverage by monitoring social media and using analytics tools (Google Analytics, Parse.ly, etc.) to achieve success

  • Be a self-starter and have the ability to think quickly on their feet and multitask in a fast-paced news environment

  • Have an understanding of SEO best practices and analytics and use that knowledge to help guide coverage

Qualifications:

  • At least two years of major journalism experience

  • A deep understanding of and passion for all things celebrity and entertainment

  • Exceptional writing and reporting skills

  • Ability to write succinct, eye-catching headlines and clean, ready-to-publish content

  • Knowledge and understanding of SEO best practices

  • Strong editorial judgment and communication skills

  • Familiarity with content management systems (WordPress, in particular), photo editing software & web analytics tools

  • Flexibility in covering live pop culture events (i.e. Oscars, Golden Globes, etc.) and working outside traditional business hours when needed

Note : NYC based candidates will be required to adhere to hybrid work model.

Salary Range: $55,000 – $65,000
