Google Privacy Engineer II, Global Business Organization in New York, New York

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 1 year of experience applying technologies and processes to mitigate risks (e.g., business, regulatory, etc.) using established frameworks such as Privacy By Design.

  • 1 year of experience driving decisions that maintain the privacy posture of an organization by analyzing and assessing proposed solutions (e.g., product features, infrastructure systems, etc.), and influencing stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in applying technologies and processes to mitigate Privacy and Security risks (e.g., business, regulatory, etc.) using established concepts (e.g., data anonymization and classification, auditing access to data and streamlining the process, privacy/security design review of diverse products and services).

  • Experience applying broad frameworks inside the business to support privacy standards (e.g., industry standards, regulatory frameworks, internal operational frameworks, etc.).

  • Experience managing requests to solve problems in a fast-paced, changing organization.

In this role, you will be involved in launches across the organization, and will also play a key role in maturing the GBO Privacy Organization and building and ensuring GBO launches are done in a Privacy Compliant manner.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $114,000-$168,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Conduct privacy reviews and provide consultation requests from GBO teams seeking privacy guidance related to their launches. Design and implement privacy-protective solutions.

  • Guide engineering and product teams during product development to ensure their data collection and usage practices are transparent and protect user privacy.

  • Conduct technical and policy reviews to identify and escalate potential privacy concerns.

  • Respond to Privacy incidents, including root cause analysis and managing remediation.
