The Trustees of Columbia University in the City of New York Postdoctoral Research Scientist in New York, New York

Immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist with Dr Nicolo Daina at The Fu Foundation School of Engineering & Applied Science, Department of Civil Engineering & Engineering Mechanics and Principal Investigator for the "Interstate Charging Infrastructure Siting for Medium and High Duty Freight Vehicles Electrification and Renewable Energy Integration" project. The successful candidate will conduct leading-edge research in models of integrated of transportation and power systems, with the following responsibilities:

  • Lead impactful research projects exploring novel models in planning and operation of future integrated transportation and energy systems.
  • Handle large heterogenous datasets and develop interpretable data-driven models for planning and operations of electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
  • Prepare periodic project progress reports.
  • Collaborate with scientists and engineers in academia and industry.
  • Disseminate findings through publications, conferences, and collaborations.
  • Champion new ideas and methodologies in transportation modelling.

PhD in Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering or an equivalent area.
