The Trustees of Columbia University in the City of New York Postdoctoral Research Scientist in New York, New York

Immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist with Dr Nicolo Daina at The Fu Foundation School of Engineering & Applied Science, Department of Civil Engineering & Engineering Mechanics and Principal Investigator for the "Interstate Charging Infrastructure Siting for Medium and High Duty Freight Vehicles Electrification and Renewable Energy Integration" project. The successful candidate will conduct leading-edge research in models of integrated of transportation and power systems, with the following responsibilities:

  • Lead impactful research projects exploring novel models in planning and operation of future integrated transportation and energy systems.
  • Handle large heterogenous datasets and develop interpretable data-driven models for planning and operations of electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
  • Prepare periodic project progress reports.
  • Collaborate with scientists and engineers in academia and industry.
  • Disseminate findings through publications, conferences, and collaborations.
  • Champion new ideas and methodologies in transportation modelling.

PhD in Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering or an equivalent area. Dynamic researchers who are curious, driven, and ready to undertake interdisciplinary research on transportation systems at the intersection of transportation system and the electricity grid.
