This opportunity to join the Department of Pediatrics at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons at the rank of Postdoctoral Research Scientist is an exciting one. Columbia University Irving Medical Center, one of the nation's foremost academic health science centers. The Department of Pediatrics at Columbia University Irving Medical Center is the top in comparison with other pediatrics department in the NY region in NIH research funding.

Key Responsibilities

  • As a Post-Doctoral Research Scientist in our program, candidate will be doing research in the area of viral infections, focused on mechanisms of entry and membrane fusion mediated by SARS-CoV-2 and measles virus.
  • Candidate will apply techniques including peptide and small molecule assessment and molecular biology that was mastered during the candidates PhD studies.
  • Candidate must have extensive training in biophysical, molecular biology and cell biology methods.
  • Candidate will collaborate on projects that involve investigators at Columbia University, Cornell Ithaca, and Erasmus Medical Center.


  • Must have a doctorate degree (M.D. or Ph.D.)
