The Trustees of Columbia University in the City of New York Postdoctoral Research Scientist in New York, New York

The Reya lab, located at The Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center at Columbia University Medical Center, is seeking highly motivated postdoctoral fellows to join our multi-disciplinary research program in cancer biology. We are dedicated to understanding the biological mechanisms underlying the development and progression of aggressive cancers, and their resistance to current therapies with a focus on pancreatic cancer and leukemia. We use a combination of cutting-edge technologies, including comprehensive genomics and computational biology, genetic and transplantation-based cancer models, and real-time in vitro and in vivo imaging to gain new insights into the biology of disease and develop new approaches to therapy.

Minimum Degree Required

  • Ph.D. MD, or equivalent doctoral degree

Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent experimental and analytic skills and willingness to learn the new model system and methodologies
  • Self-motivated with a strong interest in studying the mechanistic and translational aspects of cancer
  • Effective communication and writing skills and record of publication in a peer-reviewed journal (s)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in cancer biology or related field
  • Experience using in vitro and in vivo models of cancer
  • Some experience in standard molecular and cellular biology techniques
