Robert Half Payroll Administrator in New York, New York

Description Are you seeking a challenging Payroll Administrator role? We have an opportunity with an industry leader that you might be interested in. A company has partnered with Robert Half to find their next Payroll Administrator. The ability to communicate effectively is crucial to this role. We are seeking candidates with a demonstrated ability in a deadline-driven environment while delivering strong internal customer service. Key responsibilities

  • Strive towards timely processing of payroll in accordance with labor regulations and standard accounting principles

  • Oversee regular payroll reporting as required and assist with financial audits related to pay records and associated general ledger

  • Handle quarterly and year-end payroll reports

  • Aid staff with wage deductions, fringe benefits, pay related issues, PTO accruals, and general questions related to payroll

  • Agree to current payroll tax requirements and relevant laws associated with the processing of employee wage data, including payroll taxes, employee federal and state income and social security taxes and other required reporting

  • Handle voluntary deductions, as well as wage garnishments, pay levies, and other involuntary court-ordered payments in a timely manner, including reporting to the necessary authorities

  • Do business with internal business partners, Human Resources, and Information Technology to ensure security protocols for pay systems

  • Inquire fringe benefit reporting, pay practices related to FLSA, and other payroll areas to determine how those practices apply to advise management

  • Check data entered by others in the payroll software to include, but not limited to salary/wage increases, benefit deductions, employee termination dates, and employee leaves of absence under FMLA or other unpaid leave

  • Create systems and protocols to direct the collection, calculation and entering of pay data Requirements - Comprehensive knowledge of ADP - Payroll

    • CPP or FPC preferable

  • 3+ years of payroll experience

    • Accomplished in processing liens, various withholdings, and garnishments

    • Experience working with an HRIS system and high proficiency with spreadsheets is a necessity
