The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary

The Department of Neurology is currently looking for an experienced and energetic Full-Time Patient Access Coordinator. This position will assist with the day-to-day practice operations ensuring the highest level of customer service, practice support, and patient confidentiality. You will need to handle the coordination of care in our very busy Sleep practice in the department. This position will require the ability to travel. You will report to the Revenue Cycle Manager.

Responsibilities

The Patient Access Coordinator of Sleep cares for our patients in the department, including our Epilepsy division. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure the schedules are secured for the patient's appointment.
  • Obtain authorization from the patient's insurance company.
  • Make sure we have referrals on file for the procedures.
  • Schedule Sleep appointments as needed.
  • As needed, assume the lead role of and perform the responsibilities of office manager for some time either finite or extended.
  • Answer telephone, route callers, take messages, and provide routine information to callers professionally and efficiently.
  • Schedule patient appointments including coordination of procedures.
  • Verify insurance coverage, and pre-certify/authorize patient visits and procedures.
  • Perform financial transactions and related functions when appropriate.
  • Create good faith estimates and review any out-of-pocket responsibility with the patient before the visit.
  • Adjust and acclimate to various work assignments and work environments.
  • Manage time appropriately to meet patient and department needs.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Conforms to all applicable HIPAA, Billing compliance, and safety guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education, training, and experience, plus 0-2 years of related experience
