Job Description

Day to Day:

Insight Global is searching for an Oracle DBA to join the School of Professional Service for one of our Higher Education clients. This person will be responsible for maintaining, securing, and operating databases and also ensuring that data is correctly stored and retrieved. On a day-to-day basis, this individual will be responsible for Database Installation, Configuration and Maintenance which includes performing routine maintenance tasks such as space management, data file management, and statistics gathering as well as monitoring and managing database storage. They will be performing patching and upgrades to address security vulnerabilities and compliance. Additionally, they will be performing Backup, Recovery and high availability recovery using Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN), Data Pump and Oracle Flashback.

They will be ensuring production stability from an ongoing support standpoint and providing administration that includes Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution of enterprise-wide databases, creating Views, Stored Procedures, Functions, Materialized Views, External Tables and Packages and Moving Data and Database Objects across environments. All of their processes should maintain accurate documentation and communication of database configurations, procedures, and operational processes. Ideally, this person is eager to learn and grow within this team!

Skills and Requirements

Must Haves:

5+ years experience as an Oracle DBA

Experience utilizing PL/SQL

Experience utilizing Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)

Experience with Oracle SQL Developer and/or TOAD

Experience with recovery tools Data Pump and Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN)

Oracle Automatic Workload Repository (AWR) and Automatic Database Diagnostic Monitor (ADDM)

Experience with Unix and Shell Scripting

Experience with SQL*Loader Plusses:

AWS Experience -- projects moving systems to the cloud

Oracle DBA Certifications

Background in Data Engineering null
