Responsibilities:

Primary duties of a Mechanical Construction Inspector are to inspect mechanical/HVAC construction work to ensure conformance with contract documents and all applicable codes and standards.

Work includes preparation of daily narrative reports, contractor time and material records, review contractor's request for additional compensation, preparation of descriptions/reasons/estimates for change orders, verification of work in place quantities for contractor payment applications, coordination of construction work with facility operations and other stakeholders and ensuring the safety and quality of the work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or a comparable combination of education and experience.
• 5 years' experience in construction inspection of mechanical/HVAC work on major transportation/infrastructure projects for public agencies, such as PANYNJ, MTA/NYCT, NJ Transit, NYCDDC, NYCSCA are required.
• NFPA Fire Protection System Certification and ICC M2 Mechanical Inspector Certification
• Excellent Organizational and communication skills required.
• *Preference given to local candidates

Preferred Qualifications:

• PE license in New York or New Jersey
• OSHA 30 hour training
• Experience with vertical transportation systems

Typical starting pay range for this position is 46.41 to 66.29 hourly depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
