Job Title: Marketing & Customer Service Assistant, Scientific American

Location: New York - Hybrid Working Model

Scientific American is at a pivotal moment and preparing to advance our marketing strategy, and we're looking for a customer-centric Marketing & Customer Service Assistant to help support our marketing initiatives. This role will help provide outstanding customer support via email. The role reports into the Director of Marketing. This position requires a strong understanding of customer behavior and knowledge of the latest digital marketing tactics.

About the Role

You'll be tasked with creating marketing emails, scheduling them, and analyzing them through our email software product. Your marketing campaign tactics will help grow our ecommerce revenue.

You will be responsible for the daily communication via email to help resolve customer inquiries. This role is customer facing as well as cross-functional, working closely alongside the product and technology teams to provide feedback on the customer experience. This role is located in our New York City office on a hybrid working model.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Write copy, create link tracking, help with art ideas, and choose methods of promotion for marketing campaigns.
  • Create marketing emails, choose email lists, and schedule emails.
  • Analyze marketing campaign results and create campaign reports.
  • Correspond with customers via email and answer their inquiries.
  • Listen to customer service calls on a regular basis.
  • Delivers insights on customer experience to technology and product teams.
  • Audit and update all FAQ pages to encourage self-service online for our customers.
  • Own and maintain customer service insight reporting.
  • Ad hoc duties as needed

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

Essential

  • Demonstrated understanding of creating and analyzing marketing campaigns
  • Knowledge of the latest digital marketing strategies
  • 1-2 years of marketing and/or customer service experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience working in a fast-paced office environment is preferred.
  • Microsoft Office suite; database management
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
  • A positive attitude in the workplace and a willingness to cooperate with colleagues

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the publishing industry
  • Experience working with subscription business models

US Annualized Base Salary Range: $46,000 - $55,000. The salary offer may vary based on work experience, education, skill level and equity. The US salary range does not align with the salary ranges in other countries when converted to the currency of that country.
