The Role: The Marketing Associate is an important member of the 14Y Marketing and Communications team who provides critical support for our diverse range of programs.

We are seeking a highly organized, self-motivated individual with a mix of writing, analytical, and communications skills to coordinate content for 14Y’s social media, website, newsletters, and marketing campaigns, and help to amplify the 14Y brand. This candidate should be a strong writer and editor with exemplary digital storytelling skills and a proven record of tracking analytics for marketing campaigns. Reporting directly to the head of Marketing at 14Y, the Marketing Associate will work with staff across all 14Y programs, leadership, and our parent organization. The successful candidate should respect Jewish values, heritage, and culture, recognizing that Jews and Jewish life are extremely diverse and include people of all races, observances, experiences, ideologies, and interests.

  • Direct client group: Members, patrons, and community partners.

  • Collaboration: 14Y programs and leadership team, and Educational Alliance Development and Communications departments.

Responsibilities:

Content Development & Coordination (70%)

  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing on generating, crafting, and scheduling content for social media, promotional materials, and newsletters.

  • Write and edit copy for internal and external communications, including printed materials, newsletters, and website items.

  • Create engaging videos and write dynamic copy for social media.

  • Support Director of Marketing’s work with vendors, creative agencies, and other strategic partners.

  • Help manage marketing campaigns from start to finish.

  • Maintain in-building signage, ensuring it is up to date.

  • Assist with the content maintenance of the 14Y website.

    Administrative (20%)

  • Help maintain editorial workflow, content calendar, and asset management.

  • Assist with budget to ensure accurate coding and processing of invoices and purchase orders.

  • Track and review the success of newsletters and social media campaigns and other correspondence.

    Other (10%)

  • Attend staff meetings, as necessary.

  • Assist with other program events, partner outreach, and activities as needed.

  • Take on additional responsibilities/special projects as required.

  • Work some evenings and weekends to support special events and theater productions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or similar work experience.

  • Passion for culture and for building community.

  • 2-4 years of experience in Marketing/Communications in the nonprofit or for-profit sector.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to tell a compelling story.

  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team player with the willingness to adapt to achieve shared goals.

  • Experience using WordPress, Asana, Constant Contact, Sprout Social, or similar management tools.

  • Accountability, integrity, resourcefulness, creative problem-solving, and a willingness to learn.
