Google Manager, Access, YouTube Product Partnerships in New York, New York

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

  • 8 years of experience in business development

  • Experience in the telecommunications, media, and technology sector

  • Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Legal, Policy, Operations, etc.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with external partners in structuring commercial and/or technical partnerships

  • Experience working with Product and Engineering, including scoping new product ideas and navigating prioritization processes

  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, ambiguous, constantly evolving and collaborative environment, by converting complex issues into straightforward, timely action through excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Passion for the Telco industry with a curiosity and desire to learn about new developments and trends (e.g. 5G deployment, FWA, etc.)

  • Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to distill insights and trends from data sets and industry sources

The YouTube Product Partnerships team drives partner strategy and manages the key relationships that help make YouTube’s products more universally accessible and useful. We own the business side of new products and initiatives, and our strategic partnerships seek to build, distribute, grow, and protect YouTube’s products globally. We know how to assess partnership opportunities in any situation, define a strategy, and work closely within our team as well as with Product, Marketing, and other cross-functional stakeholders to drive critical partnerships that help evolve our business.

YouTube Product Partnerships (YTPP’s) Access team is responsible for YouTube’s strategic alliances with Telcos globally. Telco partners are critical to delivering the YouTube experience, YouTube’s traffic travels over their networks to reach our users, and we partner closely with them to bring our products to market. With these important partners, we define and structure strategic partnerships, discuss complex, often first-of-kind agreements, and manage executive and working-level partner relationships.

In this role, you will support Access Leadership and our team’s Strategic Partner Managers to craft the strategy for how we should evolve and scale our global telco engagements, with a focus on new products we should develop for partners and the telco ecosystem. You will have experience working with partners, evaluating partnership constructs, as well as navigating Product and Engineering cross-functional stakeholders. You will grow in an ambiguous, highly cross-functional, collaborative, and ever-evolving environment.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000-$191,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Optimize our approach to the Telco Ecosystem, using industry, market, and partner data to articulate a holistic strategy for the sector while identifying opportunities for new products and partnership strategies across regions.

  • Work closely with Product and Engineering to ideate and expand on new product opportunities for the Telco Ecosystem, bridging between global and regional teams and our partners to gather feedback and requirements to inform scoping and prioritization of those products, designing pilots/experiments where applicable.

  • Develop new principles and programs related to important policy topics (e.g. Net Neutrality principles and guardrails) in collaboration with Product and Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) teams.

  • Lead cross-functional buy-in for programs, product needs, or partnerships, including problem-solving legal, policy, business, financial, operational and technical complexities.
