  • Salary Range: $38.24 - $47.80 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Performs daily refrigeration engineer assignments as required by maintenance and/or job order, by sketch, blueprint, illustration or supervisor's oral directions in operation, preventive maintenance and repairs to refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation systems and auxiliary equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Applicant shall be proficient in employment of all tools, methods, and instrumentation or HVAC systems, steam generators (boilers) and associated systems.
  • Shall be able to read blueprints, schematics, and controls diagrams and be able to work safely, independently and reliably from verbal or written instructions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school/trade school graduate and/or its equivalent.
  • A valid NYC refrigeration system operator's certificate or qualification is required and must remain posted on premises.
  • Must have satisfactorily completed in controls.
  • Five (5) years' licensed refrigeration engineer or as a mechanic A or machinist A.
  • Demonstrated training and experience equivalent to educational requirements.
