JPMorgan Chase Lead Software Engineer in New York, New York

Our team is at the heart of building this new venture, focused on developing offerings that put the customer at the center. We have created a new organization and we are looking for solution-oriented, commercially minded, customer-focused engineers, used to working in a true agile environment who want to be a part of something new, built from the ground up as a green-field with zero legacy initiative within a global , diverse and inclusive team.

The responsibilities are to oversee a variety technical projects within a business subdomain and deliver end-to-end solutions holistically by leveraging the latest technologies and the best industry practices . You are expected to drive the design and architecture of the solutions while also focusing on the entire SDLC lifecycle stages.

Job Summary:

As a Senior Software Engineer in our new venture team, you will be at the forefront of developing customer-centric solutions. You will have the opportunity to work in a truly agile environment, promoting the design and architecture of our solutions, and making a direct impact on our customers as our business expands globally.

Job responsibilities:

  • Develop applications using a JVM language (Java/Scala/Kotlin, preferably Java 8+)

  • Collaborate in an Agile environment, utilizing Jira for project management, Git for version control, while working in a fast paste CI/CD environment, targeting rapid, reliable and repeatable deployment of high-quality software

  • Automate deployment, releases and testing in continuous integration, continuous delivery pipelines

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • A minimum of 10 years of recent hands-on professional experience (actively coding) as a back-end engineer

  • Qualifications in computer science or STEM related field (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) or foreign equivalent

  • Excellent knowledge of Java and its ecosystem

  • Understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture

  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and web technologies

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Experience with other languages (Go, Kotlin etc.)

  • Understanding of cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)

  • Understanding of dependency injection frameworks (Spring / Spring Boot, etc.)

  • Experience in all the stages of software development lifecycle (requirements, design, architecture, development, testing, deployment, release and support)

  • Desired - experience in automating deployment, releases and testing in continuous integration, continuous delivery pipelines
