Job Description

A Sr. International Tax Manager position is available at one of the world’s best fragrance and flavors companies. This role will report directly to the VP, Global Tax Planning and Strategy and will focus on global tax structuring for the company’s ongoing M&A and divestiture activity.

This New York City-based hybrid position (remote also considered but will require ability to travel to NYC as needed) is one that offers a collaborative work environment, experience in a fast-paced industry, and a chance to work with a dynamic corporate tax team.

In this role, you will....

  • The primary focus of the role will be to assist with the design and implementation of global tax planning strategies related the company’s ongoing deal activity.

  • This includes complex tax projects including reorganizations, acquisitions, divestitures, post-acquisition tax integration and repatriation. You will liaise directly with cross-functional internal and external teams throughout the course of implementation of projects.

  • Identify transactions that have tax implications and model the impact of various planning scenarios on the company's tax profile.

  • Support US international tax calculations of the company (i.e., TCJA, Subpart F, etc.) as they relate to restructuring and tax planning.

  • Support review of US international income tax returns, disclosure statements and elections as they relate to restructuring and tax planning.

  • Assist in gathering information to support international aspects of the IRS Compliance Assurance Program ("CAP").

Responsibilities

80%: Planning and Structuring (M&A/Divestiture Activity)

20%: Provision and Compliance Assistance

Requirements

  • 10+ years of US international tax experience from a public accounting firm, law firm or large multinational corporation. Public accounting experience is preferred.

  • Educational background with a focus on tax (JD or LLM is preferred but not required. MS in Taxation or CPA are also acceptable).

  • Extensive knowledge of US international tax principles and ability to research and apply such principles is required.

  • Experience managing implementation of cross-border tax projects; working with cross-functional stakeholders (legal, accounting, treasury, etc.). This experience in the context of M&A is a plus but not required.

  • Strong project management skills are a must (organization, time management, etc.) with the ability to work independently and efficiently.

  • Understanding of basic international tax calculations (e.g., experience with TCJA) is preferred.

  • Communication and collaboration skills are a must. This role will require ongoing communication with a wide variety of stakeholders. You will need to be able to communicate tax to non-tax teams.

  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and relationship management skills are required.

Base Compensation ($175k - $225k) is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to work experience, skills, certifications, and location.
