Overview

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager in the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development, administer and deliver human resources services for the School (payroll processing, recruiting, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation). Primary responsibility for processing payments, data entry and troubleshooting payroll issues for unionized employees including, but not limited to Local 7902 Adjuncts and Local 2110 Graduate Students. Interpret and develop procedures to meet University, federal and state employment laws guidelines, University human resources policies and the terms of collective bargaining agreements. Conduct new hire orientations and manage the collection, dissemination, and implementation of information requests from the University Labor Relations Office and Unions. Oversee the processing of personnel actions, including annual compensation adjustments, appointment letters and contact hour audits for all adjunct staff. Advise departments on Collective Bargaining Agreements and Employee Systems, such as Workday, Albert SIS and Salesforce to ensure data integrity and union agreements are being adhered to.



Responsibilities

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

Preferred Education:
Bachelor's Degree Human Resources related field

Required Experience:
2+ years relevant human resources experience, including knowledge/application of recruitment, employee relations, or compensation administration principles and practices, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience:
2+ years experience in a human resources or payroll office in an academic environment. Experience providing HR support and customer service to an adjunct population and dealing with union contracts. Knowledge and experience with HR systems, such as Workday, Albert SIS and Salesforce.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent organizational, problem solving and customer service skills. Knowledge of basic human resources concepts, practices, legislation, and procedures. Excellent organizational, problem solving and computer/technical skills. Ability to interpret and effectively communicate policies and procedures to a diverse employee population and to supervise work processes and staff. Proficiency with spreadsheet applications and strong knowledge of database applications. High level of attention to detail required.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of basic excel functions and data systems to track information and ensure data integrity.



Qualifications

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $82,500.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
