JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX Business Network is looking for an experienced Executive Producer in NY!As Executive Producer, you are responsible for overseeing content for a one-hour business news program. You work hand-in-hand with the hosts, the show team, and management to facilitate a successful production.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the editorial point person throughout the build of the show up into the Control Room until the end of the show

  • Frame compelling storylines and pick the best sound and elements for each segment from top to bottom

  • Copy edit scripts throughout the entire broadcast including changing them throughout the live broadcast if necessary

  • Work directly with the hosts regarding show content

  • Help coordinate special projects

  • Look ahead at guest segment ideas

  • Manage and mentor staff and monitor staff development

  • Conduct annual reviews

  • Oversee staff calendar/backup roles

  • Provide staff with daily ratings analysis

  • Communicate with management about rundown/guest issues/staff issues

  • Coordinate with media relations on stories, big guests, and big events

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 10+ years of experience producing at a local station or News network

  • Knowledge of and experience in business News

  • 2+ years of experience as a Senior Producer in a professional live news environment

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience

  • Strong technical skills and strong strategic thinking/decision making skills

  • Ability to execute live segments including Breaking News

  • Ability to work all hours and days as breaking news requires

  • Ability to travel with the host to road shows when required

  • Ability to copy edit scripts for air

  • Ability to handle daily script deadline pressure

  • Ability to react to breaking news with instant programming ideas

  • Exceptional editorial skills

  • Ability to recognize stories with high potential for compelling television

  • Ability to be a team player

  • Knowledge of current events, politics, and pop culture

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $185,500.00-210,000.00 annually for New York City and Westchester County, NY. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
