Develop and maintain computational risk models for computational trading strategies. Look for correlations between stock prices under specific circumstances that represent hidden risks and develop them into risk models to guide investments. Monitor the operations of our trading strategies to ensure that they are running properly and without errors and, when errors appear, fix them in a timely manner. Analyze and develop computer-based quantitative models for pricing securities, optimizing execution strategies, managing portfolios, and controlling risk. Analyze key performance indicators of companies and develop strategies related to how to forecast them and their implications on stock returns. Build quantitative models to test and validate hypotheses through rigorous in-sample and out-sample testing. Write production code to trade the strategy within our systematic trading infrastructure. Develop infrastructure and analytical software in various computer languages to improve current models and trading systems, evaluate the runtime of current models and optimize them to run faster, and analyze discretionary trading ideas and turn them into systematic forecasts. Build tools to check the accuracy of existing models and, when inaccuracies are detected, improve the models to deal with these inaccuracies. Obtain, evaluate, and process software and data from external vendors. Employ various computational methods to aggregate the data to detect outliers and irregularities, clean the data when a new dataset is sourced, and build metrics to evaluate the quality of the dataset relative to similar datasets that are currently in use. Present the evaluation results and participate in the team’s pricing and valuation of the dataset, then adapt the dataset for use within our current systematic trading infrastructure if the new dataset was acquired.REQUIREMENTS: Doctor of Philosophy degree in Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field of study. Knowledge or experience in the following must have been gained through academic research and/or coursework with building and interpreting statistical models; using data analysis tools to visualize and present research results; the Python programming language; the Linux operating system and Linux tools; and, computer science and algorithms.
