Description

Electrical Labor Superintendent

As anElectrical Labor Superintendent you will:

  • Communicate and support recruiting and hiring requirements within Federal, State and NYC safety regulations, including changes, deadlines, and non-compliance for active employees.

  • Regularly communicate recruiting status, changes, and risks to project team executives and relevant stakeholders.

  • Develop and coordinate job site manpower schedules with senior leadership, including weekly broadcasting to employees.

  • Respond to performance evaluations, identify, and promote job opportunities, and correct deficiencies.

  • Identify and respond to discipline requests to promote corrective action, and mediate disputes up to and including termination.

  • Actively monitor attendance and PTO requests to identify and communicate conflicts with job site production goals and safety requirements.

  • Assist in maintaining manpower documentation in coordination with Human Resources and Safety Department.

  • Actively monitor and manage division labor financials and identify opportunities for optimization, up to and including hour tracking, budget control and goal setting.

  • Actively walk job sites and attend job site meetings in collaboration with field leadership to promote labor best practices and optimization.

  • Liaison between division leadership and field leadership to meet production goals.

  • Facilitate quarterly field leadership meetings, including preparation of agendas, meeting minutes, and action item tracking.

  • Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with safety regulations, including assisting safety personnel with incident documentation.

  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture through the continued development of recognition programs and ad-hoc training requirements.

  • Works 40-50 hours, Mon - Fri.

  • Midtown office, 5 minute walk from Penn Station

  • Needs to be willing to report to and work from job site offices within NYC

  • Reports directly to the Director of Construction.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6 Years electrical construction experience

  • New York City and OSHA certifications

  • Familiarity with NYC safety regulations and practices in the construction industry.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and construction practices.

  • Strong verbal and written communication, collaboration, and presentation skills

  • Motivated team player, pro-active, detailed, and positive

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • MUST be able to pass a drug and background screen

  • Commute to Mid-town Manhattan, Mon – Fri.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years electrical construction experience in a leadership position

  • BA/BS in construction management with additional New York City, and OSHA certifications and/or relevant trainings

  • Experience with project accounting and management tools Procore, Jira, Gsuite, etc.

  • Basic understanding of project labor budgeting and cost control principles.
