Economic Research Intern, Japanese Speaker (New York, NY)

Haver Analytics, a database firm tracking macroeconomic and financial data located in Midtown Manhattan, is seeking energetic candidates with an economics/finance background to join our growing team.

This is an entry-level, part-time position. There is a minimum of 20 hours worked per week (up to 40). College students are encouraged to apply, while post-graduates may look towards our full-time offerings.

This role will focus on assisting our research team with translations of existing UI elements to Japanese. You would work on key government websites to identify economic releases in their native language, parse through the release material for relevant data, and prepare them for comparison with our existing assets for translating. Familiarity with economic terms and concepts in Japanese is required. The role would have you liaise with our London office over via video conference call to keep project work and updates organized between our project lead and co-workers.

Language skills needed: Japanese (Reading/Writing fluency)

We are hiring for our Day shift in the New York City office.

US market hours (8:00 AM - 5:30PM) starting at $16 an hour.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn about important economic and financial indicators that the community of economists, strategists, and risk managers within the corporate marketplace and public sector rely on.

We are working in a flexible, hybrid environment where our full-time members work 3 days per week in-person at our office. All employees need to be fully vaccinated. You will need a computer with good internet connectivity at home, and discuss with your manager your in-office and out-of-office scheduled days.

Candidates must be detail oriented with good computer and communication skills. Coding skills in Python or any software is considered a plus for more readily learning our own systems.
