This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a full-time Early Career Field Engineer for our New York City, NY office. Be involved in projects with our PMCM Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges.
Your Impact
Ability to review and interpret plans, shop drawings and approved submittals for construction.
Perform quality assurance audits of contractor operations for conformance to plans, proposals and specifications.
Perform quality assurance testing and sampling of materials and products used in construction to ensure compliance with approved materials/specs.
Reviewing site conditions, material placement, adherence to safety plan.
Writing detailed daily reports including calculations of quantities, payments and related items, as-built sketches, quantity calculations and tracking of manpower/resources.
May need to work nights and weekends as field conditions warrant.
Complete training on assigned tasks including OSHA, ACI and others related to the projects.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, or related degree.
0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience.
Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework.
Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills.
Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
This position is subject to and contingent upon client approval of candidates put forth for consideration by WSP.
Preferred Qualifications
Recent graduate or May 2023 Graduate in an accredited Civil or Structural Engineering, or related, Undergraduate or Graduate program.
The successful candidate will have 0-3 years of internship experience in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Experience using Site Manager or othe CM software is a plus.
