Position summary:

The Director of Merchandising for Men’s and Women’s Denim is responsible for the product strategy for the global denim categories. This position collaborates closely with cross-functional partners to bring product strategies, visions, and innovation to life. This role is responsible for aligning all global product strategies into one, clear, concise vision. Category ownership includes all styles from aspirational to full price to outlet to off price. Ownership of global line planning for denim as it relates to assortment aesthetic direction, style / skus counts, regional exclusives, segmentation, pricing, fabrication etc. The Director will ensure all products accurately flow from sketch creation to purchase order issue, on time, on brand, and profitably.

Responsibilities/accountabilities of the job:

  • Define & lead global denim strategy on global and seasonal level. Deliver best in class hero, essential, and seasonal styles.

  • Consistent communication with channels to collect regional & market needs.

  • Partner with design to bring product to life in coordination with the brand identity, balancing commercial with aspirational.

  • Collaboration with raw material & supply teams to cost product at all pricing tiers within margin objectives, whilst delivering innovation, quality, and craftmanship.

  • Drive calendar results to make sure all milestones are tracking on time.

  • Detailed understanding of marketplace, including direct competitors and aspirational brands.

  • Encourage and develop a team of direct reports.

Qualifications & experience:

Experience: 10+ years of Global Merchandising experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising or equivalent experience

Skills:

  • Experience in driving product assortments that drive business and excite customers.

  • Strategic problem solver who recognizes opportunities and can influence decision makers to move to execution.

  • Must be a creative problem solver able to multitask at a quick pace.

  • Must possess high level of analytical skills and conceptual creative ability.

  • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills.

  • Must possess a global perspective with international market experience.

  • Solid understanding of the competitive landscape.

  • High energy and a positive demeanor are a must.

  • Strong leader, who enjoys team development.

DECISION MAKING: Responsible for brand strategy for Men’s and Women’s Calvin Klein Denim Apparel

RESOURCEFULNESS/CREATIVITY: Must be able to analyze trends and apply them to assortment building in order to increase sell-through.

ENVIRONMENT: Fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and highly collaborative.

Pay Range:$145,000 - $173,500

PVH currently provides base salary ranges for all positions-on job advertisements-in the United States based on local requirements. These ranges are based on what PVH reasonably believes that it will pay an associate for their base salary for said position at the time of the posting. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors including but-not limited to qualifications, geographic location and other relevant skills.
