Purpose of the Opportunity

The Director, Finance and Real Estate Applications is a member of WIN’s information technology department. This person will be the primary liaison between IT and the Finance and Real Estate Teams responsible for the critical back-office functions needed for carrying out WIN’s mission. The position will work closely with these staffs to understand their business objectives and processes, identify, recommend, implement, and support technology solutions, and provide guidance in leveraging technology to increase mission impact, effectiveness, and efficiency.

Key Accountabilities

Application Integration and Improvements

  • Conduct and/or participate in process improvement reviews; Identify process improvements and technology opportunities to increase efficiency application.

  • Research and evaluate new applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications that will help support departmental needs.

  • Key team member of the Finance Systems Overhaul project underway.

    Application Support

  • Support program systems and business processes including but not limited to GL and Financial management and Real Estate management.

  • Influence finance and real estate staff to become more efficient by utilizing technology and providing operational support.

  • Act as main or backup application administrator on department specific applications .

  • Identify, track and oversee resolution of application issues .

  • Develop training and documentation for end users, conduct training sessions, and other user-related activities. Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of application-usage best practices app support.

    Project Management

  • Develop and maintain finance and real estate project roadmaps.

  • Working with AVP, PMO to develop and submit IT project proposals .

  • Oversee acceptance testing for new applications and application enhancements .

    Qualifications

  • Excellent judgment, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, relationship building skills, and ability to achieve results without direct reporting relationships

  • A natural improver, always striving to improve processes, technology and systems

  • Ability to bring new ideas, create inventive solutions and find efficiencies by transforming manual processes.

  • Strong presentation and meeting facilitation skills

  • Experience conducting user training and creating documentation

  • Hands on experience with GL systems and experience with Sage Intact, NetSuite and/or Workday a plus

  • An understanding of non-profit accounting nuances a plus.

  • Experience or familiarity financial application integration and developing data flows to support same

  • Experience developing reports and dashboards and/or working with BI tools

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • 3-7 years’ experience working in a business analyst, business technologist, program manager, database administrator, application administrator, process engineering or similar role
