Description:

Our hospital client is looking for a Junior Systems administrator/ Desktop Engineer. They will be responsible for ensuring desktop, MAC OS device engineering and ensuring configuration standards are met. They will work with multiple teams from desktop to the network engineering teams and outside vendors to design best in class solution for desktop and device application solutions, including configuration management, repairs, maintenance or operations of the Hospital Desktop Computer Systems..

Apple/MAC Device Support:

  • Responsible for Apple device support and ensuring configuration standards are met.

  • Support Apple devices in alignment with the System’s mission critical goal of providing service excellence in patient care.

  • Under the supervision of the End User Innovations Director, maintains, analyzes and troubleshoots, device, hardware, software and associated peripherals.

  • Test applications, OS versions, upgrades and configurations to be deployed and supported across all facilities.

  • Escalation point for desktop technicians.

  • Develop strong aptitude for service automation and support using JAMF, Apple Business Manager, Device Automation, Enterprise Connect along with aptitude for process improvements and automation.

  • Consults with device and application engineers to design best in class solution for device application solutions, including configuration management, repairs, maintenance or operations of the Apple devices.

  • Test and Package applications for Apple device deployments leveraging service automation tools.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve macOS, iOS devices and sleds, with the ability to identify and proactively resolve ongoing device issues.

  • Actively suggests changes that enhance operations or customer service.

  • They will be involved to test and package applications for desktop and device deployments leveraging service automation tools as well as build desktop, device images, applications and release packages to desktops and supported devices.

  • They will also troubleshoot and resolve desktop application issues, with the ability to identify and proactively resolve ongoing desktop issues.

  • They will also need to accomplish tasks such as software packaging, desktop distribution, and automation of such procedures.

System Administration responsibilities:

  • identify any problems in the system, anticipate potential issues and repair systems and software when necessary. Other duties and responsibilities may include

  • Setting up new users and giving them access to the intranet

  • Managing and maintaining the file servers

  • Operating the firewall for the organization

  • Monitoring the internet connection for security risks

  • Employing the latest security protocols

  • Monitoring the local area network (LAN) for threats or errors

Educational Level:

• A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, applied Mathematics, Business Administration, Economics/Statistics, Telecommunications, Data Communications, or a related field of study;
