Position:Cost Estimator, Construction ProjectsEmployer:MJM Associates Construction LLCJob Location: New York, NYJob Duties: Prepare cost estimates for construction projects; read and interpret pre-construction architectural blue prints, mechanical shop drawings, read and interpret architectural blueprints, mechanical or shop drawings, and other technical documents or schematics issued by architects, MEP engineers, or subcontractors to calculate, analyze and adjust cost estimates, scope of work, and work with project managers to prepare bid documents, RFI and change-order estimates. Review subcontractors’ bids and their safety protocols implementation/projections to estimate and adjust subcontractor’s cost estimates to account for safety costs, permits and license costs; Utilize construction project management software such as Procore to manage the lifecycle of construction project costs, in view of the timelines and milestones of each project’s targeted completion date; Confer with project managers and confirm with customers on variation/scope changes and prepare change order cost estimate changes. Coordinate the work of construction project managers, company’s work-site employees, subcontractors (construction workers, mechanics, engineers, etc.) and give guidance (work orders/changes) when needed in the Spanish language.Minimum Education & Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field and six (6) months of experience in the job offered or related role utilizing construction project management software.
