The Asset Management coverage team within Financial Institutions in CIB is seeking an experienced senior relationship manager (RM), at the Managing Director (MD) level. The senior RM is responsible for growing Wells Fargo’s presence in the Traditional and Alternative asset management sectors.

This individual has primary responsibilities for developing, maintaining and generating revenue from a portfolio of clients and prospects in the asset management space. This person will cross-sell traditional banking products as well as capital markets solutions to existing clients and identify prospects to add to the platform. Additionally, the RM will work closely with the team’s portfolio manager on proposing, structuring and closing credit transactions. The RM will work closely with Wells Fargo partners including investment bankers within the Asset Management coverage team, Treasury Management, Foreign Exchange, Corporate Trust, Commercial Real Estate and Markets to best support each customer’s needs.

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 9+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: commercial banking relationship management, corporate banking relationship management, equity or venture capital investing

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience originating, structuring, and executing transactions related to corporate banking, other credit related products, equity or venture capital investing for critical or complex clients

  • Ability to develop multifaceted revenue streams from strategic clients, including capital markets

Other Desired Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in corporate banking, industry experience within the specific sector of the position, or a combination of both

  • Asset Management experience, within the Financials Institutions

  • Meaningful experience in a relationship management business where sophisticated corporate or institutional clients are served through Wholesale product offerings (credit, capital markets, traditional banking solutions, etc.)

Job Expectations

  • For specific FINRA qualification exams obtained after 9/30/2018, the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam co-requisite may also be required

  • Registration for FINRA Series 63 and 79 must be completed within a 90 or 180-day time period contingent upon number of license(s) needed if not immediately available to transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted. This will be communicated at time of offer acceptance.

  • Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position. In addition state registration, specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply. Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards. Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA review process at the time of offer acceptance.
