The Analytics & Insights (A&I) organization develops actionable insights using Amazon’s unique data to influence how advertisers promote their businesses. Our insights enhance their marketing decision-making, leading to them to be measurably more successful with Amazon.

We are currently looking for a highly skilled and motivated consultant, Analytics & Insights to join the team. This role is a key member of the Customer Success Team at Amazon Advertising, working with sales, product, retail and other Amazon business partners to analyze and improve advertisers’ performance on Amazon, in support of their marketing initiatives. Consultants, Analytics & Insights work with Amazon's unique data and translate it into high-quality and actionable insights and recommendations to improve the effectiveness of advertiser campaigns and unlock business opportunities. Day to day, the activities include analyzing metrics of success for a business or category, developing data-driven insights and recommendations and communicating recommendations in a clear and compelling fashion.

Key job responsibilities

a consultant, Analytics & Insights will be expected to

  • Play a pivotal role with our largest and most complex accounts, working with account teams to drive KPI growth.

  • Deliver regular analyses and insights for some of the world’s largest advertisers to drive their businesses forward.

  • Present findings and insights in a consultative way to the client and collaborate with the relevant internal teams in order to provide a complete solution.

  • Be an analytical partner for advertisers, by providing relevant insights that will be incorporated into upfront strategy discussions and negotiations.

  • Influence marketing initiatives and own account-level data and/or analytics related strategic conversations internally and externally.

  • Exhibit analytical ability, and develop great expertise in Amazon’s proprietary metrics, working to constantly evolve how we analyze and communicate data driven insights to our advertisers.

  • Use Amazon’s data to understand our advertising customers’ business and provide guidance to customer marketing and media planning leadership, via business reviews and frequent in-person client sessions to regularly iterate on and articulate a brand’s story.

  • Drive decisions that increase the ease of use and availability of data to both internal teams and external partners.

  • Be a proponent of data driven decision making.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree plus 5+ years’ experience in client-facing data analysis roles.

  • 3+ years of consulting experience with a major consulting firm or 3+ years of advertising experience with a top advertiser (agency or client side).

  • Ability to translate technical aspects of analysis and metrics into actionable insights for the advertiser and both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Excellent data driven storytelling skills – you create and deliver compelling presentations with outstanding visuals to high level stakeholders.

  • Advanced in SQL - ability to write complex queries from scratch from multiple tables, creating the appropriate joins, extracting and manipulating data, formatting fields, creating new measures and metrics, etc.

  • Fluency with an advanced analytical tool (Python or R) – ability to run advanced statistical modelling and analysis with either Python or R. If current skill is with R, then have the ability and aptitude to attain fluency in Python for analysis and statistical modeling.

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and verbal).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with advertising publishers and marketing/creative agencies.

  • MBA, Master’s or Doctoral degree in Economics, Marketing, Statistics, Advertising, or Business/Digital media planning experience.

  • Experience in a performance advertising role where you managed significant complexity and scaling challenges.

  • Experience in marketing campaign management, development and execution.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $204,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
