Alvarez & Marsal is searching for candidates with 8 years of finance and accounting experience to join our CFO Services team and deliver large, complex and transformational client work. A& M helps a companys CFO and key finance leaders re-imagine the finance function and identify methods to improve a companys back office, FP& A and reporting processes leveraging best practices, digital processes, org redesign and technology.

The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge in the following areas:

  • Performing Finance and accounting current-state assessments leading to a future-state vision and strategy for the CFO organization
  • Finance and accounting process improvement including core finance functions (AP, AR, Credit, General Accounting, Payroll), cash forecasting, financial reporting, and FP& A
  • Finance technology strategy and roadmap
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and/or Enterprise Performance Management (EPM)
  • Financial system and integrator selection
  • Deployment of digital workforce leveraging AI, ML, and RPA
  • Rapid cost reduction
  • Liquidity and cash management
  • Organization design, improvement, finance and accounting function buildout
  • Shared services design and implementation
  • Business case development and management including benchmarking, KPI design and measurement
  • Ability to lead large-scale multi-year projects / project and change management


Responsibilities:
  • Develop client relationships at every level, look for new opportunities to assist, provide thought leadership, and be a true trusted advisor
  • Assist in the planning and execution project phases, and supervise others to ensure the following: coordination of work efforts with the client; completion of defined deliverables; adherence to project and budget milestones and timelines; communication of progress to all parties (internal and external)
  • Provide service excellence by identifying key issues and driving, measuring and reporting on results of engagements
  • Determine client needs using standard assessment techniques and tools with innovative approaches
  • Evaluate and validate analysis and develop recommendations for the client in the context of the overall engagement
  • Implement and oversee the quality of deliverables
  • Participate in the development and presentation of proposals for business development activities


Qualifications:
  • 8-20 years of relevant consulting, finance transformation, or industry experience
  • Bachelors degree in business administration, accounting, or finance; MBA a plus
  • Senior Directors must have the ability to originate new opportunities using personal network (net new or existing clients), and/or generate work from project expansion efforts within existing client including referring work to others across the firm
  • Prior consulting industry experience is strongly preferred
  • Digital experience a plus
  • Shared Services leadership or outsourcing advisory a plus
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Excel, MS Visio, MS PowerPoint)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise critical thought
  • Comfortable with travel up to 80%
  • Ability to handle multiple, and often conflicting, priorities at one time

The salary range for Director is $150, 000 - $225, 000 annually and Senior Director is $175, 000 - $275, 000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A& M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.
