IBM Brand Technical Specialist- Data and AI: AI Governance SME in New York, New York

Introduction

A Brand Technical Specialist within IBM's Data & AI brand means accelerating enterprises' AI success by improving the ability to understand their data and how AI can unlock that data. IBM's Data and AI organization fuels enterprises' journeys to AI with data governance and science. At IBM, we build and scale AI with trust and transparency to drive digital transformation, deliver personalized customer experiences, and help enterprises make more data-backed decisions.

In this role, you'll be an elite technical resource that will drive client interest, and commitment, leveraging a curiosity that sparks innovation and learning. Your contributions will influence sales strategy, build trusted client relationships, and facilitate client success.

The Role

IBM's Data and AI organization is currently seeking an AI governance Subject Matter Expert with experience in at least one of the following products: IBM watsonx.governance, OpenPages, OpenScale and AI Factsheets, AWS Sagemaker.

Brand Technical Specialists are the technical experts and advisors to clients, IBM sales teams, and IBM Business Partners. As a BTS Subject Matter Expert, you understand the client's business requirements, technical requirements, and competitive landscape. You also apply your AI governance expertise by incorporating software and services into client solutions and ensure client readiness for the implementation of technical solutions.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Actively develop and progress qualified opportunities with the IBM Sales Team with focus on data governance.

  • Deliver solution workshops, product demonstrations, technical education, and Proof of Concepts while articulating business value.

  • Act as a deep technical expert in sales opportunities and progress pre-sales engagements.

  • Learn deep IBM product skills for IBM Data & AI solutions: Watsonx.governance, IBM OpenPages, and AI Factsheets.

  • Collaborate with IBM sales teams to define, design, and detail the technical aspects and feasibility of proposed solutions.

  • Assist with Request for Proposal (RFP)/Request for Information (RFI) and other technical questionnaires.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Minimum of 3 years of previous experience in a Technical Sales/Solution Consultant/Sales Engineer role or experience work with data governance team in a business environment.

  • Experience with at least one of the following solutions: IBM watsonx.governance, OpenPages, and AI Factsheets, AWS Sagemaker.

  • Experience with data governance solutions like Watson Knowledge Catalog, Collibra, Informatica, or Infosphere Governance Catalogue.

  • Strong programming skills with proficiency in Python and experience with AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Hugging Face. Understanding in the usage of libraries such as SciKit Learn, Pandas, Matplotlib, etc.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Proven experience in designing and delivering AI solutions, with a focus on foundation models, large language models, or similar technologies. Experience in natural language processing (NLP) and text analytics is highly desirable.

  • Solutioning Experience: Experience in solution architecture and design, translating business requirements into technical specifications, and developing scalable and robust AI solutions.

  • Education: Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.

  • Experience with IBM Data Science solutions, watsonx Assistant, watsonx Discovery, watsonx.ai, watsonx.data, watsonx.governance, and watsonx code assistants.

  • Familiarity with data lake, data fabric, Apache Iceberg, vector databases, object stores, non-SQL database concepts.

  • Experience with statistics/machine learning packages like TensorFlow, Pytorch, Scipy, Keras, Numpy, Pandas, or Spark MLlib.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and related services is a plus.
