Job Description Review, audit and process various payroll transactions based on established procedures, laws and business practices o Use basic queries and other computer applications as assigned o Upload and/or record transactions in databases and scan and upload documents o Enter deposits, transfers and claim for payments transactions via the Statewide Financial System o Respond to and/or process written, email and phone correspondence o Provide agencies with basic deduction information, assistance with entering transactions or completing necessary forms where needed. o Requesting additional documentation from agencies when needed. o Assist with training presentations. o Provide information about frequent agency submission errors and common agency questions for possible use in training programs. Preferred Qualifications: o Excellent analytical and organization skills o Excellent oral and written communication skills o Detail orientated, and produces an accurate and timely work product o Works well independently and in a team environment o Ability to respond to written inquiries and telephone calls from NYS employees, NYS agencies and vendors o Ability to analyze and review weekly deduction query results o Ability to prepare timely, accurate, thoughtful deduction related research o Ability to locate, research, communicate and document any discrepancies or unusual circumstances o Ability to reconcile complex business reports and identify discrepancies o Ability to provide training and guidance to employees o Ability to assess multiple competing priorities
