Aston Carter Behavioral Scientist in New York, New York
Description:
Integrate Behavioral Science principles and practices into (client) to improve client outcomes and branch performance.
Enhance firm understanding, awareness, and application of behavioral science concepts to enhance delivery of Human Centered Complete Wealth Management
Serve as a resident expert and resource for the firm on all things about behavior
Guide senior leaders as they set vision and make plans for strategic direction of key areas
Represent complex data and concepts to a variety of audiences ( senior leaders, associates in small and large groups)
Collaborate and influence across the Experience Center of Expertise, Enterprise Design, the Insights Network and other key Shared Services groups
Understand capabilities of departments across the firm and leverage/partner effectively
Consult to support integration
Help business areas develop solutions that will meet their business goals
Provide behavioral science insight on how our business decisions will affect our FAs, BOAs, and clients
Provide the psychology behind why decisions are expected to be effective
Share how to design products and services that move branch teams and clients toward more productive behaviors, including what motivates and demotivates
Research and Experimentation
Understand, analyze, and recommend various research methodologies to address firm-wide business issues.
Detailed understanding of both qualitative and quantitative marketing research methodologies and sampling designs.
Experience with design implementation and analysis of lab and field experiments.
Independently and through partnership with key capabilities, drive experimentation as a key firm business process for data-based decision making
Educate and advocate for experimentation
Consult with business areas on the design of the experimental intervention
Apply behavioral science principles to the experimental protocol to increase adoption
Recommend the most efficient and effective research designs to overcome firm business challenges.
Keep abreast of new developments in behavioral science.
Identify, guide, and partner with academics and external vendors to execute research projects or other consulting and training opportunities
Apply new developments in behavioral science to firm strategies and Enterprise Design
Clear explanation of fundamental principles
Quickly integrate new knowledge into existing strategies
Build understanding of principles with other groups (build their behavioral science acumen)

Successful candidates will join a growing team within Enterprise Design that supports firm-prioritized efforts by partnering with Strategy Designers, Product Designers, Experience Designers, and key stakeholders in the business.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Education
Masters degree or equivalent work experience required (field of interest is in Social Sciences – psychology, organizational behavior, behavioral finance, economics, etc.).
Minimum Years of Experience Required
8+ years relevant work experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
In depth knowledge and understanding of Behavioral Science, Psychology, Behavioral Economics, Behavioral Finance.
Consultative and entrepreneurial approach to work
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence others.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to set priorities.
Effectively coordinate and manage multiple large-scale projects.
This role will lead and influence large and complex projects with General Partners and the firm's senior leadership groups (workstreams, forums, division strategy and operation groups, etc.), other department leaders, and team leaders. Projects would have a high degree of impact, risk and visibility.

Decision Making:
This role will have a high degree of decision making, specifically around the use of methodology, vendors, degree of involvement in projects, and prioritization of projects and resources. This role will make consistent, aligned decisions and recommendations to associates, leaders, and General Partners. Daily decisions will be made independent of review. Many decisions will not be governed by specific policy, and this role operates independently on a daily basis.
