Omnicell, Inc. Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 in New York, New York

Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 (Traveler)

The Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 will travel to customer locations to provide support coverage, conduct training on Omnicell automation equipment (XR2, IV Robot, PackPlus, etc.) , conduct competency reviews, and provide direction for improving site specific operations and efficiencies. The Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 will be responsible for learning the important terminology and components of Omnicell automation equipment. The Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 will prepare and maintain the Omnicell automated equipment for daily use, perform advanced equipment troubleshooting, maintain optimal medication inventory levels, review / maintain reports. The Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 will engage with various levels of customer service by identifying and addressing any customer concerns and report to the Manager, Pharmacy Services. This position carries the responsibility for the successful completion of all operational tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform automation tasks in an aseptic, error free manner, consistent with prescribed guidelines.

  • Follow Safe Handling of Hazardous Drugs procedures when handling medications.

  • Responsible for identifying/ordering medications to ensure medication inventories are at optimal levels.

  • Perform automation equipment cleaning, maintenance, and optimization as required.

  • Responsible for monitoring and ordering consumable supplies required for the operation of the equipment.

  • Responsible for performing advanced troubleshooting and prescribed maintenance of automation equipment and reporting unresolved equipment issues to the TAC/HD.

  • Maintain a high level of communication with pharmacy services manager and customer, to ensure proactive, solution-oriented problem identification and resolution.

  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by aligning the Pharmacy Services Program to provide customer-focused support emphasizing quality, professionalism and responsiveness, by acting as liaison between OMCL and customer to assist with customer concerns.

  • Conduct training and ensure completion of all required documents and compliance with all Pharmacy Services procedures and policies.

  • Must be available to travel up to 100% of the time to various customer locations.

  • Maintain fiscal responsibility for work-related expenses, per Omnicell travel policy.

  • Comply with reasonable procedures, policies and guidelines established by the Customer facility.

  • Maintain national certification and all state required credentialing.

  • Act as a resource or SME, for OMCL team members, providing training and/or assistance either on site or remotely to ensure optimal workflow.

Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

  • Good organizational skills in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated customer service skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, communications and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work with mechanical equipment.

  • Working knowledge of computer hardware, Microsoft Windows, Excel and PowerPoint

  • A self-starter who is able to work independently and follow a detailed plan.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work well with customers and with employees at various levels,

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Current PTCB Certification or equivalent nationally Pharm Tech Certification (ExCPT) required

  • Current NEW YORK State Pharmacy Technician Registration

  • Reliable Transportation and Valid Driver’s License required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduated from Accredited Certified Program

  • Working knowledge of pharmacy automation equipment

  • Working knowledge of IV Compounding / sterile environment requirements

  • Knowledge of safe handling of hazardous medications

  • Advanced Troubleshooting Skills with automation devices

  • Proficient in the use of PPE and hand hygiene techniques

  • Project management/implementation experience

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to travel up to 100% of the time

  • Ability and flexibility to work various shifts (1st, 2nd, and/or 3rd shift)

  • Pharmacy environment.

  • Capable of standing for several hours at a time.

  • Potential exposure to hazardous drugs.

  • Able to lift 25–30 lbs.

Selected candidates may be required to pass a math aptitude test.

Compensation will vary based on region. For the state of New York only, expected pay is $27-$28 hourly
