Role Value Proposition:

Internal Audit (IA) is an independent, global organization that plays an important role in partnering with the business to ensure that management anticipates, recognizes, and appropriately manages risks. We protect MetLife and our stakeholders through meaningful independent assurance and advice, while advocating for risk management and internal controls.

We are seeking a Director of Data and AI who would be excited to join a dynamic and highly collaborative team. The Director will lead and deliver our audit efforts in assuring responsible use of data and AI technologies across MetLife. The audit director will be responsible for defining, leading, and delivering assurance over data and artificial intelligence risks throughout the organization, objectively evaluating the adequacy of controls and adherence with policies, standards, relevant regulatory requirements, and leading practices to ensure ethical uses.

Key Responsibilities:

· Perform quarterly risk assessments for Enterprise data and AI governance areas to identify a risk-based audit plan, considering financial and non-financial risk factors.

· Provide assurance over Enterprise data and AI domain areas, identifying risks, issues, and opportunities for improvement.

· Guide cross-functional teams with varying levels of technical and non-technical knowledge to understand data and AI risks.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and across audit teams, communicating audit results and recommendations effectively.

· Support the development and evolution of the data and AI audit capabilities, by establishing guidelines that holistically consider the lifecycle of development and risks associated with data, privacy, fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethical usage of data in AI solutions.

· Establish mechanism to stay abreast with emerging trends, technologies, and regulations in the data and AI domain, and provide thought leadership and insights to clients and internal teams.

· Lead audit teams, providing coaching, feedback, and guidance on audit methodology, tools, and techniques.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

· A bachelor's degree or higher in information systems, computer science, engineering, or a related field.

· A minimum of 10 years of experience in auditing, consulting, or implementing data and AI solutions, preferably in a Big 4 or a similar environment.

· A credential in auditing, like Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA), or a credential in data and AI, like Certified Data Management Professional - CDMP or Certified Data Scientist - CDS.

· Proficiency in data and AI concepts, principles, techniques, and tools, such as data governance, data quality, data security, data privacy, AI governance, AI risk management, AI explain ability, and AI performance.

· Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate audit findings and recommendations clearly and persuasively to various audiences.

· Strong leadership, management, and coaching skills, with the ability to lead and motivate audit teams and foster a collaborative and inclusive culture.

· Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple audit engagements simultaneously and deliver high-quality results within deadlines.

· Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, complex and dynamic environment with evolving change.The wage range for applicants for this position is $155,00 to $180,000. This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation.
